The interactive CD-ROM combines all the dictations with on-screen audio controls, a word-processor with timing systems, and a wealth of workbook-style exercises as well as links to the book, the CD-ROM allows students to listen and transcribe without need of a special transcribing machine.
There are over 323 authentic physician dictation reports available for student to transcribe on this interactive CD-ROM. The dictated reports include chart notes, letters, initial office evaluation, consultations, history and physical examinations, discharge summaries, operative reports, emergency department reports, procedure notes, and diagnostic studies from each of the medial specialties. The dictation and the accompanying transcripts have been carefully reviewed by certified medical transcriptionists (CMTs), educators, and physicians to ensure that the reports reflect an accurate and representative sample of each medical specialty.
Students, at the appropriate time from Future MT instructors will be given access to the transcript keys and compare their work to the keys in a split-screen format, giving them immediate feedback on their errors. The CD-ROM also contains numerous resources for the student accessible by means of drop-down menus. The foot pedal included with this course works with the audio medical dictations on the CD-ROM to function much like a traditional transcribing machine.

Information that appears in the transcript key but is not in your document will appear in green text, i.e., additions.
Tallying Errors Students have the ability to score each document and tally errors. They can highlight a single word, two or more words, a portion of a word, or even a space between words.
Typing Speed Test A fast typist is not automatically a fast medical transcriptionist, but building rapid and accurate typing skills can improve overall transcription performance. A Typing Speed Test that alerts you to errors and forces you to make corrections as you go will help you become a more accurate transcriptionist.
