The medical field is one of the largest in the world. There are billions of people and nearly all of them need healthcare at some point in life leaving this field consistently growing. Becoming a medical transcriptionist will put you in a vital role of the medical field. You will be responsible for the permanent helathcare records of patients. There must be a high moral code in place for MTs as well as a strict code of ethics.

All patient information whether big or small must be kept confidential. Failure to do so can result in legal action. This is very important and the patient's private personal information should be guarded as well as their medical information.
As an MT, you must understand the seriousness of your position. The value and need for MTs is high and you must keep that in mind while working in order to do the best you possibly can.
Always remember there is a never-ending amount of knowledge in the medical field. You will be a continuous learner until you stop working as an MT. You will be upgrading your skills and knowledge as the medical field grows and changes.
Attempt to make your reports perfect and without error. There are some errors that can ruin your career as an MT which are unacceptable. In this as well, be sure to work quickly and efficiently in order to meet all deadlines set before you.
Make sure to have goals in mind for the future. Think about what is next and set short as well as long term goals for your family.
