Preparing for MT Training

• Make sure your current finances are in order. If you are working another job during MT training to pay your bills, that is great. On the other hand, if you do not have a current source of income, figure out how you will pay your bills before you begin so that the stress does not affect your performance in your training course.  
• Get your family and friends’ support. The people in your life will have to sacrifice time with you as you fit something new into your schedule. Make sure your spouse, kids, and anyone else significant is on board with this and that they support you.  
• Get your financial plans for schooling in line. Whether you are paying cash, getting a scholarship, or acquiring a loan, make sure to know what you will be doing to pay for your course before you start. Of course, you will not know if you can get a scholarship until after enrollment, but you should know exactly what you would like to apply for beforehand.
• Set your goals. Take some time to think about how long you want to take to finish your program. Make a schedule of how much work you want to daily, weekly, and monthly. Set some goals for your typing speed and accuracy and see where it stands as you complete your training. Setting and accomplishing goals will help you be confident in your new career.
